Migraines - A REAL Headache!

Most of us at one time or another have experienced a headache. Nagging, sometimes throbbing pain that leaves us reaching for pain relief in a bottle. But for some, a headache serves up a whole new dimension of pain.

Anyone who has them will tell you migraine headaches are no ordinary headaches.

In fact as much as 15% of the population suffers from migraines, and the majority experience these debilitating attacks at east once a month.

While those of us who have experienced a regular headache or two over the years, might not understand what all the fuss over migraines is about, consider that nearly a third of migraine sufferers miss an average of one day of work every 3 months, that a quarter of those with migraines get pain so bad they wind up in the emergency room for treatment and that, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, an overwhelming 91% of people with migraines experience symptoms so severe they are unable to work or function properly during an attack.

Staggering effects, especially when you consider a quarter of migraine sufferers claim they can suffer a migraine attack as much as once a week or more.

And while many seek medications for treatment when a migraine strikes, studies now show that massage and manual therapy can actually be equally beneficial in the treatment and relief of migraine symptoms.
